Bonds (places) - See all my reviews    This review is from: Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion: R2, Part 3 (Limited Edition) (DVD) There is a reason why this series was named best Anime Series in 2008. I mean it when I say that this series has something for everyone. Whatever your poison- from action to suspense to science fiction to yes, even romance- this show manages to weave all of these important thematic elements together into this fantastic story that during its entire 50+ episode run, manages to keep the viewer interested without laying any of its individual elements on too thickly. There are plenty twists and turns, plot devices, surprises and comedic moments that will keep its audience gripped until the very end. And anyone who is a religious fan can tell you, anime is known for its lackluster endings. Code Geass, however, manages to steer away from this stereotype, delivering a beautiful, finate closing to such a richly crafted and evenly distributed storyline that will most certainly keep you talking for weeks afterward. This review is from: Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion: R2, Part 3 (DVD) Another addition To this epic saga lelouch is now facing the consequence of his action in a way no one expected (except for a few Like myself). These episode finally revealed something I always wondered.wich is how far lelouch will go for revenge . Another great addition to this epic saga I beleive these episode show how humanly vulnerable lelouch is which is rare to see in most tale of revenge (altrough code geass is about more than just revenge). This review is from: Gurren Lagann: Complete Collection (Anime Legends) (DVD) I was so excited that this finally came out, I ordered it the day before the release date. The description on here was rather poor so I was unsure of what I was getting. I haven't watched it all yet, but I got through one episode. It's basically a no-frills collection. Just a standard DVD size case, filled with all 6 DVDs. No reversable cover I'm afraid, but the discs themselves look nice, and are easy to get out of the box. The DVDs seem to be identical to the other releases, this one just being consolidated. Both English and Japanese language tracks are here, with 2 English subtitle tracks, one that's full for watching it in Japanese, and one that's just "Signs and Songs" so lyrics and anything written will be shown. Quality isn't great, I wish that there was a Blu-Ray release. It doesn't seem as vibrant as it should be, but I have only watched it on my laptop. Both episode 6's are included, with the uncut... There are lots of artifacts and noise, not to mention the fact that it's interlaced. Besides that, the colors are wonderful, the menus are nice, and the actual packaging isn't bad at all; it's six discs in a standard-sized DVD case, so it's a little cramped, but it's well made. The physical DVDs also look nice. Overall, it isn't a bad buy if you're into the series. However, if you demand high quality, I'd cross your fingers and hope for a R1 Blu-Ray release with better encoding. This show's got a handful of everything from guns, girls, mechas, beastmen, and funny puns every now and again. It's worth the buy and keeps you at the edge of your seat, so this most definately won't bore.
